How is my child graded in music?
Assessments in our music program are often embedded into lessons to provide a low-stress environment for our students. Each child is evaluated in three areas of performance through-out the year: Behavior, Effort, and Skills. Kindergarten through 2nd Grades use the following descriptors for these areas: Beginning, Developing, or Secure. However, 3rd through 5th Grades use the descriptors: 1, 2, 3, or 4 with 4 indicating the highest level of success. These assessments are included with the classroom report cards at the 2nd and 4th Quarters during the school year. If you have any questions about your child's performance in music at any point during the year, please feel free to contact Mr. Buyze.
